About us

To the UK people!

Our UK countryside is worth exploring not only for its nature, animals and landscapes but for its people! Country folk are beautifully creative and resourceful. We hope you’ll connect on this site and find long-forgotten crafts, amazing tastes and beautiful art that’s just right for you, your home, family and friends.
Makers and producers, may you shine on our directory!! Share your passion with locals, holidaymakers, ex-local, tourists and vendors alike. Be found and proudly present all you do, create and produce.

Our inspiration

We like to offer a place where rural crafters and makers can pool their resources to be showcased.

We like to offer a place where we can find these creative people around the countryside to fill our homes with bespoke items and foods that aren’t mass-produced.

We review every listing that is submitted to ensure it fits in with our inspiration of what this directory is all about.

How it all began

Starting days

Got it in the sticks was born out of meeting incredibly talented people in the Waveney Valley along the Suffolk/Norfolk border.

We met them at craft fairs, saw handwritten signs for locally produced cider by the roadside with monthly opening hours or picked up a business card for traditional basketry with social media connections in a pub.

We were struck by the quality, value and originality of their work. Their passion and dedication to client satisfaction, the affordability, the joy to share what they produce is unrivalled and deserves to be accessible.

Building a directory and a reputation is yet another ongoing challenge. One that you can help with! Word of mouth is always the best press.

Our vision

We are looking to create this online community for everyone who is too small to get into the big magazines by themselves. All this talent deserves to be found in one reliable space – here!

We work tirelessly to bring awareness to this directory. The pros to climate change when looking for gifts and supplies on our doorstep. The improved happiness and mental health when getting exactly what you want and talk to the creator in the process.

The excitement of knowing what a region has to offer before you holiday there. Finding the little stalls of local honey & eggs.

The joy of taking home a flavour from your holiday or local area to celebrate the good experience you can have in the British country side every day.

Unity is strength....when there is teamwork and collaboration, wonderful things can be achieved.
